A Town Built Around Its Roads
Avondale started out in the 1880s as a stage stop called Coldwater, spent most of the twentieth century growing alfalfa and cotton, and then turned into one of the busiest crossroads in the West Valley. Downtown Phoenix sits about fifteen miles east on Interstate 10, which is close enough that plenty of people drive it twice a day and far enough that their glass eventually pays for it.
Then there are the weekends when the rest of the valley comes here. Phoenix Raceway has been running on the south side of town since 1964 and still hosts two NASCAR weekends a year, which turns Avondale Boulevard into a slow river of vehicles for days at a time. Add the daily crush around Estrella Mountain Community College on Dysart Road and the shopping traffic along McDowell, and there are not many genuinely quiet stretches of road left in town.
You cannot drive less in a town laid out like this one. What you can do is catch the damage early, which is the entire reason we run a mobile truck instead of asking you to give up a morning and sit in a lobby.
Paying For It
The reason people put off a windshield is almost never the glass itself. It is the assumption that dealing with the insurance company will eat an afternoon. We take that part off your plate by setting up a three way call between you, your carrier and our shop.
You are on the line, your insurer is on the line, and so are we. When the adjuster asks something technical about your glass, the answer comes from the people who will be installing it.
There is no approved network you have to belong to. Whoever writes your policy, we will file the claim with them and we will not steer you somewhere else.
If you carry comprehensive coverage, windshield damage is very likely covered, and plenty of policies pay for chip repair with no deductible at all. Worth checking before you assume otherwise.
Paying out of pocket is common and our pricing is competitive. Ask for the number on the first call. Nothing gets added on the day, and there is never a charge for the trip out to you.
Arizona can cite a driver for damage that obstructs a clear view of the road, so a crack across your sight line is worth handling before the next race weekend rather than after it. The structural argument matters more anyway: a bonded windshield is part of what holds the roof up and part of what the passenger airbag pushes against.

Windshields are most of what we do, but they are nowhere near all of it. If it is glass and it belongs to your car, it is somewhere on this list.
One to two hours in your driveway or your parking space. Old urethane cut back, bare metal primed, new glass set, and a straight answer on how long to leave it before you drive.
How a replacement worksUnder thirty minutes for damage smaller than about three inches that is clear of your line of sight and clear of the glass edge. The cheapest auto glass decision you will ever make.
Book a chip repairSide windows and the small fixed corner panes. Both are tempered, both shatter completely, and both leave a mess in the door and the carpet that we clean out as part of the job.
See every pane we replaceRear glass carries defroster grids and antenna leads that have to survive the swap. Quarter glass is often bonded rather than dropped in, which makes it closer to a windshield job than a window job.
Car window replacementThe three way call, the paperwork and the follow up. It is not a service you pay for, it is just part of how we do the job.
More on insuranceThe shade band across the top of the glass. Ask about it while the windshield is coming out anyway, especially if your commute runs straight into a low sun morning and evening.
Where We Park
Avondale runs from Garden Lakes and the Thomas Road side in the north, down across the freeway to Old Town, and out toward the raceway in the south. We cover all of it at one price, and knowing your neighborhood usually tells us how to plan the visit.
The original business district and still the most walkable corner of the city. Street parking works fine for us as long as the car is not going to be moved partway through.
Named after the settlement Avondale grew out of, and one of the easier neighborhoods for us to work in thanks to wide driveways and quiet mornings.
North of the freeway on the 91st Avenue side. A calm spot to set glass, and close enough to the on ramp that we are usually there quickly.
South side, out toward the raceway. If a race weekend has your street boxed in, tell us when you book and we will schedule around the worst of it.
Estrella Mountain Community College, the apartments around it and everything along that stretch. A student parking space is fine as long as the car will stay put for the appointment.
Offices, dealerships and shops between the freeway and McDowell Road. We do a lot of work in employee lots while people are inside getting on with their day.
Our workmanship carries a limited lifetime warranty. A leak, a whistle at freeway speed, a piece of trim that will not sit down properly, any of it means we come back out and put it right. Twelve years of doing this same work in the same handful of cities means word of mouth is the only advertising that has ever really worked for us, which makes it worth far more than the cost of a return trip. There is more on how our mobile service works and on what careful workmanship involves.
We look after the neighboring cities on identical terms, including auto glass in Goodyear next door, auto glass in Buckeye further west where our shop sits, and auto glass in Phoenix across the river.
Avondale Questions
Eight answers that cover almost every question that comes in from this side of the valley. Anything else, ask on the phone and you will get the real answer rather than a script.
Yes, though it is worth telling us when you book. Phoenix Raceway weekends push a lot of traffic through the south side of town, and knowing about it in advance lets us pick a time and a route that does not leave you waiting on the truck.
Not usually. We need the car parked in one spot for the appointment with enough room to open both front doors fully and walk around the glass. A regular numbered space is normally fine. A tight carport can be awkward with taller vehicles, so mention it when you call.
A windshield replacement is one to two hours for most vehicles. A chip repair is usually finished in under thirty minutes. Either way we tell you before we start, and we tell you how long the adhesive needs before the car is safe to drive.
If it is smaller than roughly three inches and it is not sitting in the driver's line of sight or right at the edge of the glass, then yes, a repair should hold. If it fails either of those two tests, we will tell you that a replacement is the honest answer.
No. Mobile service is free everywhere we work and there is no distance premium anywhere in Avondale. The quote you get on the phone is the final price, and it already accounts for us driving to you.
Comprehensive coverage very often covers glass, and many policies cover chip repair with no deductible. We work with every carrier and we make the call with you rather than sending you off to make it alone.
You can. Arizona treats damage that obstructs the driver's clear view as citable, so a crack running through your sight line is a real risk on top of being a safety problem. The windshield is also part of the structure that supports the roof and backs the passenger airbag.
Often the same day, and next day at worst when you call in the morning. We come from Buckeye, which is a straight run west on Interstate 10, so getting into Avondale early is rarely a problem.
