How It Works

Nobody Has to Drop the Car Off Anywhere

The whole point of running a mobile truck is that the appointment happens where the car already is. You do not sit in a lobby, you do not arrange a ride home, and you do not lose an afternoon to somebody else's schedule.

1

Call and Describe the Damage

Year, make and model, roughly where the break sits on the glass, and whether there is a camera or a rain sensor mounted behind the mirror. Two minutes on the phone is usually enough for a firm price.

2

Give Us an Address and a Cross Street

Streets here loop rather than run in a grid, so the nearest cross street saves everybody a phone call. If the car lives under a carport, mention it. We work around carports constantly and it is rarely a problem.

3

The Work Happens Where the Car Sits

A full windshield replacement runs one to two hours from the time we pull up to the time the trim goes back on. A chip repair is normally finished in under thirty minutes.

4

We Clean Up and Tell You When to Drive

The old glass and every fragment of it leaves with us. Before we go you get a straight answer on how long the adhesive needs to set before the car is safe to move, not a vague shrug.

There is a longer walk through the replacement itself, trim and moulding included, on our windshield replacement page.

The Town

A Community Built in 1960 for Less Hassle, Not More

Del Webb opened Sun City on the first day of 1960 on twenty thousand acres bought from the Boswell farming operation, and a hundred thousand people turned up that first weekend to look. More than sixty years later the founding idea has not really changed. Everything you need should be close, and nothing should be harder than it has to be.

Most of the driving here is short. A run to the store, a round on one of the courses, a class at Bell or Sundial or Marinette, an appointment at Banner Boswell. Those trips are easy on glass. The trips that are not easy are the ones out onto Bell Road and Grand Avenue, where the traffic is heavier, the trucks are bigger, and the loose gravel coming off the vehicle in front does not care how carefully you drive.

Low mileage does not protect a windshield. Sun and heat do their own slow work on glass, and a chip that sat through two Arizona summers has generally spread whether the car moved or not.

Small Damage

A Chip Caught This Week Is Not a Windshield Next Month

The cheapest auto glass decision anybody ever makes is dealing with a chip while it is still a chip. It is the difference between half an hour and half a morning, and often the difference between a claim with no deductible and one with a deductible attached.

The Three Inch Line

Damage under about three inches will normally take a repair and hold it. Past that, replacement is the honest answer, and we will say so rather than sell you a fix that fails in a month.

Two Exceptions Worth Knowing

Damage sitting in the driver's line of sight, or right at the edge of the glass, needs replacing even when it is small. A repair leaves slight distortion behind, and edge damage undermines the bond holding the windshield in.

Under Thirty Minutes

A chip repair is quick enough to fit between other things. We can be finished while you are still on a phone call, and the car never leaves the spot it was parked in.

Free With a Replacement

If we are replacing one piece of glass and another pane on the same vehicle has a chip in it, the chip repair is on us. There is no sense leaving with a known problem still on the car.

Heat is the accelerant. A windshield that spends July sitting in an open driveway expands and contracts every single day, and small damage does not survive that unchanged. There is more detail on the chip repair page.

Every Pane

Windshields Are Most of the Work. They Are Not All of It.

Front glass is what people call about, but the rest of the vehicle breaks too, and a lot of shops treat those jobs as an afterthought squeezed in between windshields. We do not.

Front Windshield

Full replacement, properly bonded, one to two hours, with a limited lifetime warranty on the workmanship behind it.

Back Glass

A different procedure from front glass entirely. Rear glass is tempered, so it lets go into thousands of small pieces, and clearing those out of the interior is part of the job rather than an extra line on the bill.

Door Glass

The pane that rolls up and down. Common after a break in, and it drops fragments down inside the door cavity that have to come out or they rattle for the life of the car.

Quarter Glass

The small fixed pane behind the rear door on a lot of vehicles. Often bonded rather than set in a frame, which makes it closer to windshield work than window work.

Vent Glass

The little triangular pane at the corner of the door. Easy to overlook, easy to break, and yes, we replace those as well.

Windshield Tint Strip

The shade band across the top of the glass. Worth asking about while the windshield is out, because that is the one convenient moment to add it.

Replacement

1 to 2 hrs

From the moment we arrive to the moment the trim is back on.

Chip Repair

Under 30 min

Quick enough that most people barely rearrange the morning.

Experience

12 years

Same family, same handful of West Valley cities, the whole time.

Households here often keep more than one vehicle, and the spare is usually the one that gets ignored. If both need glass, say so on the first call and we will handle them in one visit instead of making you book twice. The full list of what we cover sits on the all auto glass page, and side windows have their own page under car window replacement.

Arizona can cite a driver for damage that obstructs a clear view of the road, so a crack sitting across your sight line is worth handling sooner rather than later. The structural argument matters just as much. A properly bonded windshield helps hold the roof up and gives the passenger airbag something to push against.

Insurance

We Get On the Phone With Your Carrier While You Listen

Filing a glass claim alone means holding, repeating your policy number and hoping you used the words the adjuster wanted. We do it as a three way call instead, with you, us and your insurer on the line at the same time.

Any Carrier, No Approved List

We work with every insurance company. There is no network you have to already be inside and no carrier we turn away at the door.

Comprehensive Usually Covers It

If you carry comprehensive coverage, auto glass is very likely covered. A lot of policies cover chip repair outright with nothing out of pocket at all.

Filed Right the First Time

Because we are on the call, the damage gets described the way the adjuster needs to hear it. That is usually the difference between an approval today and a callback next week.

Paying Out of Pocket Is Fine Too

No comprehensive coverage, or a deductible high enough to make a claim pointless? Ask for the cash number on the first call. Our out of pocket pricing is competitive and the quote is the final price.

Our workmanship carries a limited lifetime warranty. A leak, a whistle at speed, a piece of trim that will not sit flat, any of it brings us back out. There is more on how we approach the install under high quality work, and more on the claim itself on the insurance page.

The same terms apply everywhere we go, including El Mirage just west, Surprise to the northwest, Peoria wrapped around the other three sides, and Phoenix down the highway. The whole service area is listed on we are here for you.The shop our trucks leave from every morning sits southwest of here in Buckeye.

Straight Answers

What Sun City Callers Ask Us First

Eight questions that come up on almost every call, answered the way we would answer them on the phone.

Can you work under my carport, or does the car need to be out in the open?

A carport is fine and often better, because shade keeps the glass and the adhesive at a sensible temperature in an Arizona summer. All we need is enough room to open both front doors and walk right around the vehicle. If the space is tight, rolling the car forward a few feet usually solves it.

Sun City is not an incorporated city. Does that change anything?

Not for you. Sun City is an unincorporated community in Maricopa County, and mobile auto glass service works here exactly the way it works in a town with its own city hall. The only practical difference is directions, since the streets run in circles rather than a grid.

My car barely gets driven. Is a small crack really worth fixing?

Usually yes, and sooner rather than later. Damaged glass keeps spreading whether the car moves or not, because the heat cycle on a summer day expands and contracts the windshield every afternoon. A repair that costs very little now becomes a full replacement after a season of that.

How long will you be at the house?

One to two hours for a windshield replacement, measured from when we pull up to when the trim goes back on. A chip repair is normally under thirty minutes. Before we leave we will also tell you how long to let the car sit before you drive it.

Can we meet somewhere other than my house?

Yes, as long as the vehicle stays parked in one spot for the whole appointment and we can get all the way around it. A recreation center lot, a family member's driveway or a medical office parking space all work. Just tell us where the car will actually be sitting.

Will you deal with my insurance company for me?

Yes. We work with any carrier and set up a three way call so you, we and your insurer are all on the line together. If you carry comprehensive coverage, glass is usually covered, and many policies cover chip repair with nothing out of pocket.

Is there a warranty on the work?

Our workmanship carries a limited lifetime warranty. If something turns up afterward, a leak, a wind noise, a trim piece that will not stay seated, we come back out and put it right at no cost to you.

Does coming out here cost extra?

No. Mobile service is free and there is no distance premium anywhere in the valley. The price we quote on the phone already has the drive built into it, so nothing gets added on the day.
